A soundtrack of frailty

Hi everybody, during these days of quarantine I preferred to be silent with the blog.

But this quarantine doesn’t stop me as Sounds From The Marshes, as I had a lot of free time

Yesterday I finished my latest release, Carcassland 2 (also named “A Soundtrack Of Frailty” ) , and it’s now available for free on my bandcamp page.

Differently from the first Carcassland (2013), this release is completely instrumental, except from the last track, “Boreas”.

The album is a soundtrack of a world under threat of pandemic, where there’s no more music, except for the nature, represented by the birds.

“Boreas”

“Birds Will Take Control”

The last two song are two covers, one is Quote, a b-side from a Have A Nice Life taken from their second compilation of Voids.

The other is Boreas, a song from Einstürzende Neubauten taken from their album “Perpetuum Mobile” and it’s the only song with the vocal part.

Originally this song had to be included in the first “Carcassland” release, but it went discarded and lost as my hard disk broke down two times, so I re-recorded it.

Differently from the original I decided to add a sort of epic-atmospheric outro to end the album in a right way.

Thanks to Eetu Iljamo for the artwork.
